Hello and happy Thursday! This is Mrs. Lemmon your Lewis & Clark Jr. High principal with some very important information for the start of school. I am very excited to have our students back in school next week. Yes the first day of school for all students is Wednesday, August 13. The school day starts at 8 AM but students will not be allowed into the building until 7:50 AM each day. So, if you're dropping students off for school, please wait until 7:50 AM. Each grade level has a specific door for entrance and exit each day both before and after school. All 6th and 8th graders will enter from the front of the building off of Lorena at doors L1 and L2 and our 7th graders will enter from the back of the building via the teacher parking lot at door A6. No vehicles are allowed to enter the Teacher parking lot. Students must be dropped off on the side of the street and walk to the A6 doors. There will be staff members at each door to greet and assist students upon arrival. Meet the teacher will be Tuesday night August 12th from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Doors will not open before 5:25 PM. Everyone will go to the LCJH gym first for an introduction and presentation that will start promptly at 5:30 PM. Students will be dismissed to go with their teachers to take school supplies to their first hour advisory teacher's classroom. Please make note that the parent informational presentation will last approximately 20 to 25 minutes so if you have other students in the district you will want to go to the junior high introduction first at 5:30 PM. The first three days of school, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are shortened and students will be dismissed at 1 PM. That is for the first week only. Normal every day dismissal time will be 2:35 PM each day and will start on Monday, August 18th. Last but not least, skyward student schedules will be opened up tomorrow, Friday, August 8th at 3 PM. If have had any changes over the summer with a new phone number, emergency contact person, or their phone numbers, addresses, etc. please make sure those are in skyward ASAP. If there is ever an emergency and we need to contact you, we must have the correct information available. Thank you for your time, understanding, and I hope you have a blessed day. See you soon!
